Engie SA has implemented a structured governance process to align its lobbying activities - both direct engagement and participation in industry associations - with its climate strategy and the Paris Agreement. The company ''integrates climate issues into all of the Group's governance chains, from the operational management of its activities to the executive and strategic decision-making bodies (Board of Directors, Executive Management and Executive Committee)'' and ''the Board of Directors' Ethics, Environment and Sustainable Development Committee (EESDC) studies and decides on climate-related issues in particular points concerning the implementation of TCFD recommendations, decarbonisation objectives and climate policy of the Group.'' Engie commissions an annual ''Industry Associations Climate Review'' that ''assesses the alignment of the climate-related positions'' of 50 global associations ''to ensure that these memberships strengthen the defence of the Paris Agreement objectives as well as ENGIE's climate-related policy positions.'' This process ''builds upon a foundation laid by the 2022 Review'' and ''ENGIE reaffirms its commitment to the annual publication of this report,'' demonstrating ongoing monitoring. The report ''describes a policy to ensure alignment of climate lobbying activities and a process . . . for how these activities are monitored or managed'' by ''the ENGIE Group's Public Affairs Department . . . coordinating with the Public Affairs teams in the countries where ENGIE operates'' and by ''the Board of Directors, through its Committee on Ethics, Environment and Sustainable Development,'' which ''is specially charged with reviewing the risks and opportunities connected with climate change and making its recommendations to the Board.'' Furthermore, Engie ''discloses a specific individual or formal body that oversees or reviews the alignment of lobbying with company goals'' - namely ''the Board of Directors' Ethics, Environment and Sustainable Development Committee'' - and extends its oversight through regular stakeholder engagements and ''stakeholder committee'' discussions that feed into the annual integrated report presented at the Shareholders' Meeting.
