Carbon emissions from our facilities, business travel, and employees' commutes form the greatest portion of our environmental footprint. For that reason, our sustainability efforts focus on managing, reporting, setting targets, and reducing those emissions—including setting a science-based reduction target that aligns with the Paris Agreement. ICF's public statements and positions are aligned with our climate ambitions and strategy. We do not engage in federal lobbying. Other government relations activities are consistent with corporate policies supporting independence.
ICF provides our clients with unbiased, objective, fact-based, analysis to support them with developing strategies that respond to climate risks and may inform their policies, which are separate from those of ICF. Policymakers may read and be influenced by ICF's work on climate change, however, we do not directly engage to influence policy because it could present a conflict of interest.
