Describe the process(es) your organization has in place to ensure that your engagement activities are consistent with your overall climate change strategy[…]The following processes ensure that our direct and indirect activities influencing company policy are consistent with our overall climate change strategy.
Our Head of Corporate Responsibility and Corporate Affairs, reporting directly to a Board member, regularly engages with external bodies who directly or indirectly influence climate-related policy. One such example could include meetings held with Andrew Griffiths the UK's Net Zero Business Champion, amongst others.
The Head of Corporate Responsibility has regular internal meetings regarding business strategy, where relevant policies and regulations are represented. Subsequent departmental meetings take place as required to support work resulting from policy changes. With the introduction of our new carbon steering committee and corporate responsibility strategy several meetings have been undertaken with the areas of the business that are best placed to help drive change though the organisation, including but not limited to, logistics procurement, fleet, building and construction, real estate. These meetings had the successful aim of informing, discussing and driving forward work streams to complete our carbon targets. Regular update meetings are in place to ensure that all are aligned and significant progress continues.
