Governance and oversight of SmartCentres' approach to ESG and sustainability are embedded at the Board of Trustee-level through the ESG Committee as a Sub Committee of the Audit Committee ("ESG Sub Committee"). All material environmental and social risks are overseen through consideration of ESG factors, impacts, approaches and opportunities when reviewing and approving SmartCentres' strategic plan and key initiatives. [...] The ESG Sub Committee provides oversight and is regularly informed of material ESG-related matters. The EVP, Portfolio Management & Investments holds Senior Executive responsibility for the management and implementation of the Trust's ESG strategy and is supported by a cross-functional ESG Taskforce.
