**Policy engagement and industry collaboration** dsm-firmenich is a member of various industry associations and advocacy organizations committed to advancing strategic topics directly related to our sustainability initiative 'People. Planet. Progress.'. We are active in these bodies at both the international level and the national level in countries where we operate. Additionally, dsm-firmenich has signed several business, environmental, and social charters related to our initiatives. [...] **Value chain decarbonization** dsm-firmenich will build on the decarbonization foundation put in place before 2030. This will be reinforced by additional actions predominantly led by our global and BU Science & Research teams. We also expect that advances in technology, boosted by a dedicated advocacy agenda for supportive government policies, will make a wider range of decarbonization options not only available but also cost effective at scale.

We take accountability at the highest level of the organization. Our Sustainability Committee and Executive Committee oversee our Climate and Nature agenda. This includes strategy, targets, and target delivery, as well as the management of principal risks related to Climate and Nature. The committees' responsibilities also include reviewing the effectiveness of our risk management and internal control processes. [...] We actively engage and partner with public and private entities – including governments, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), other businesses, suppliers, academia, and local communities – to advance environmental stewardship initiatives, engage in capacity building, and reduce our environmental footprint.

Describe the process(es) your organization has in place to ensure that your engagement activities are consistent with your overall climate change strategy[…]The Global Environmental Team, who reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Global Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHS&E), is primarily responsible for Firmenich's overall climate change strategy. The Global Environmental Team works closely with the regional QHS&E, operations, research and development, and other teams to ensure the implementation of projects and involvement in activities are aligned with the Firmenich Global Environmental Policy and our 1.5°C science-based targets – both of which are in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement. The Global Environmental Team first gains a deep understanding of any potential direct or indirect activities that Firmenich may peruse involvement in. After understanding the goals and potential outcomes of the various activities, the Global Environmental Team determines whether the activities are properly aligned with our overall climate change strategy. If activities are aligned, they will be proposed to the Senior VP, Global QHS&E for approval. If activities are not aligned, participation may be declined or modified to maintain alignment.
