Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG has established a formal governance framework for its political lobbying activities but does not disclose any climate-specific lobbying oversight or alignment processes. It states that “political lobbying follows the principles of integrity, compliance, openness and traceability and takes place within the framework of binding group-wide policies,” and that “political influence and lobbying activities are regulated in the Group Principles of Communication and Governmental Affairs Policy.” Oversight is explicitly assigned to senior executives: “the members of the Executive Board, the head of the Communications, Sustainability, and Politics department and the head of the Politics and Society department are responsible for activities relating to political lobbying,” and the “Politics and Society department is responsible for all political lobbying on behalf of the Porsche AG Group.” This department coordinates through a “Governmental Affairs Steering Committee” and “reports to the Executive Board on current political matters and developments regularly.” However, we found no evidence of any process or policy specifically targeting climate-related lobbying, nor any reporting, audits, or alignment procedures to ensure that Porsche’s political engagement supports its climate objectives.
