Describe the process(es) your organization has in place to ensure that your engagement activities are consistent with your overall climate change strategy[…]DENSO is a member of the Japan Auto Parts Industries Association (JAPIA) and the Japan Business Federation, and participates in the decision-making process of their advisory councils and other bodies as a member. We benchmark not only national policies but also the targets and the level of activities for climate change in the industry. Any direct or indirect activities that affect policies are reported to Safety Health & Environment Div., and analyses of the company-wide climate change strategy are carried out. If a response is required or a strategy change is required, it is deliberated and decided by the company-wide safety, health and environment committee. The decisions are reflected in the engagement activities of each business unit.
The strategies for climate change decided by the company-wide safety, health, and environment committee are reported to business units twice a year in the meeting of the regional environmental committee of the business group. To domestic group companies, the strategies are reported twice a year at the domestic group safety and environment meeting. To overseas group companies, the strategies are reported twice a year in the meeting of the overseas regional environmental committee. We have established a global network of five regions overseas, and have sections that administrate the regions in North America, South America, Europe, China and Southeast Asia. In this way, when implementing policy engagement activities, we confirm the consistency with DENSO's climate change strategy and collaborate.
