- We have been promoting sustainability management and global CSR for the longest period among Korean construction companies with the belief that not only economic value but also social value are absolute values that we must create. Thanks to these efforts, we have been recognized for our achievements as a global construction leader, including being included in the 'World' group by the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for 12 consecutive years.
- In addition, to further solidify the sustainability management system, we launched the 'Hyundai E&C Sustainability Management Council' to promote a company-wide sustainability management strategy in 2020. In addition, we re-established the ESG management system up to the level of the BOD, the highest decision-making body, by amending the operating regulations of the Transparent Management Committee, which is made up of all outside directors.
- In 2021, Hyundai E&C's ESG governance organizations discussed the importance of ESG issues and future business directions for 'responding to the global climate change crisis'. As an important member of the international community, we believed that strengthening our socially responsible management is the direction for sustainable corporate growth in order to preemptively respond to the current climate change crisis facing mankind, and all executives and employees agreed. Therefore, through the BOD resolution, we finally set detailed action goals such as 'Declaration on Coal Exit', 'Expansion of Renewable Energy and Eco-friendly Projects', 'Securing Sustainable Competitiveness', and 'Response to Global Climate Change Crisis'.
