Describe the process(es) your organization has in place to ensure that your engagement activities are consistent with your overall climate change strategy[…]We support the Japan Climate Initiative (JCI), and we are working with other companies that support the JCI to lobby and communicate with governments. Specifically, we are advocating for the government to raise the target level and the ratio of renewable energy to electricity based on the Paris Agreement.
We work with JCI to ensure that their strategies are in line with those of the Sapporo Group and, if necessary, we obtain internal approval for such joint efforts. The Sapporo Group's strategy is posted on the company intranet and communicated in the integrated report so that all employees, regardless of planning departments, can review it when planning and implementing activities related to climate change. In addition, the Sustainability Department is in charge of monitoring the Group's activities on a regular basis through meetings of the staff in charge to ensure that they are in line with the Group's strategy.
