Lotte Chemical understands that the best way to be prepared for potential regulatory risk is through direct engagement with policy makers. The CEO has therefore assigned the Environment Management Team to engage with policy makers as part of keeping up to date with the most recent regulations, ensuring that we are in compliance with rules, and making sure that the interests of our company and our industry are adequately reflected. The Environment Management Team is directly under the CEO reporting line which helps ensure that our policy engagement objectives are in alignment with our overall climate change strategy as defined by the CEO, the Board, and the ESG Committee. Because the Board and ESG Committee make decisions that have company-wide implications, any and all engagement objectives are also designed with the entire company (including all business divisions) in mind. Currently our main operations are in Korea and we are directly subject to regulations by the Korean government so our engagement activities are focused on policy makers in Korea.
