In 2022, when the functions of Chairman and Chief Executive Offi cer were separated, the increasing importance of CSR issues resulted in the Group's decision to give the Chairman direct responsibility for Sustainable Development . Implementation of CSR strategy is overseen at Executive Committee level and regular presentations are made on the subject to the Board of Directors. As CSR is becoming an increasingly strategic and central subject, on 1 July 2022, the Board of Directors created the Strategic and CSR Committee to evaluate the Group's CSR policy and, more specifi cally, to set targets, measure progress, and ensure that tools for measuring non-fi nancial performance are put in place. [...] Since 2018, the Group has been looking at environmental, social and ethical performance criteria when calculating the bonuses awarded to its top managers. As an indication of the importance the Group places on these indicators, the proportion of variable compensation that depends on CSR performance increased from 5% at the outset to 15% in 2022. The goal is to embed the Group's non-fi nancial performance into all its business lines and at the highest level of the company. A share of the bonus is therefore conditional on achieving objectives related to: - the energy effi ciency of the Group's plants; - the number of workplace accidents; - the social compliance rating assigned to the Group's sites under the social audits conducted in at-risk countries."
