This includes Board level oversight, down to processes in place at the asset level, such as our Green Box requirements in all construction contracts.

Attach commitment or position statement(s)[…]We have aligned our program with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals which are a product of the Paris Climate Agreement, and we have announced a goal to achieve net zero emissions for our Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 2050, which aligns with the Paris Climate Agreement.

Describe the process(es) your organization has in place to ensure that your external engagement activities are consistent with your climate commitments and/or climate transition plan?[…]Federal Realty has several mechanisms for ensuring that our external engagement activities are consistent with your climate commitments and/or climate transition plan. Our VP of Sustainability works directly with our EVP General Counsel to set and implement our ESG Strategy throughout the company. They both regularly update and engage with other members of the C-Suite including the CEO, COO, and CFO to ensure they are appraised of the latest activities in the ESG program, and are included in the decision making process for future endeavors. Additionally, the Sustainability team regularly engages with the Board of Trustees on ESG and climate related issues, since the Nominating Committee is responsible for ESG and climate related issues oversight. Furthermore, Federal Realty has an ESG Council comprised of leaders of the primary business functions at Federal Realty, and they meet at least quarterly to discuss our climate transition plan, and other updates as they relate to the ESG program.
