When the need arises to communicate with external associations or to announce our public stance concerning climate change, this is reviewed by the ESG Team and is subject to the final review by the Chief Administrative Officer before release. We ensure that our public positions and activities align with our climate change response strategies in the review process, and details of any lobbying activities undertaken are made public through our ESG disclosures. The associations and government-invested organizations Hankook Tire is involved in are outlined on page 80 of this report, and associations related to sustainability management include the WBCSD and the KBSCD.

Hankook Tire & Technology has disclosed climate-related financial information through its ESG reports since 2021 in accordance with the TCFD (Task force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) recommendations. Such disclosures include our climate-related risks and opportunities, governance related to identified risks and opportunities, strategies and potential financial impacts, the resilience of organizational strategies in consideration of climate change scenarios, risk management methods, assessment metrics and targets. The analysis outcomes generated as such will enable us to develop a mid/long-term response to climate change and transform the crisis of climate change into opportunity. [...] The Climate Change Committee plays a pivotal role in developing systemic climate change response strategies to integrate into our business operations. In tandem with this, we are implementing a wide array of energy savings, including improving equipment efficiency, optimizing energy use, and opting for renewable energy, to mitigate the GHG emissions generated from our operations.

Describe the process(es) your organization has in place to ensure that your engagement activities are consistent with your overall climate change strategy[…]1. Hankook Tire & Technology has continuously been participating in public hearings related to climate change, including on the GHG Emission Trading Scheme, and presenting its opinions directly to government management agencies whenever there is a prior announcement of the enactment or amendment of related laws or guidelines. 2. Hankook Tire & Technology is a member of KBCSD (Korea Business Council for Sustainable Development). If there are issues related to Korea's environmental policy, including K-ETS, we submit comments to the Ministry of Environment through KBCSD. Also, we are engaged in the establishment of national environmental policies by discussing the suggested opinions with higher level government officers including Vice Minister of Environment through the Environment Policy Council meeting held twice a year and the Operation Committee held every month.
