Describe the process(es) your organization has in place to ensure that your engagement activities are consistent with your overall climate change strategy[…]Policy makers are identified as one of the key stakeholders for climate action and one of the key pillars of our overall climate strategy. Therefore, the engagement activities are done across business divisions. Considering the overall climate strategy of the company, Chief Sustainability Officer assesses the risks and opportunities of the company related to climate change for all business units and accordingly charts out the plan of engagement. The same plan is disseminated to all the relevant units and functions along with the top management and committees such as Sustainable Development Committee, GMC etc. for their input. This consultation brings in the focus and expertise of all the internal stakeholders for efficient engagement and ensures consistency with the overall climate strategy.

In addition to this, we are also involved in numerous industry segments and are often active in forums/ seminars relating to those
segments including climate change. Given the nature of the telecommunications industry and emergence of new technologies, regulatory change is often a very considered process with regulators seeking participant comment and participation prior to implementation of any new or changed regulations. Our Regulatory team maintains a tracker to monitor and ensure timely responses to all consultation papers relevant to us. We also engage external legal counsel and consultants who liaise with regulators on our behalf. These relationships facilitate two-way communications with the regulators providing various contact options if the regulators seek information from Tata Communications and also provide channels of communication for issues the Company may want to raise with the regulators.
