## Accountability
Our Board sets the Business Conduct Guidelines as a guide for the day-to-day behavior and the business-related actions and decisions. To safeguard accountability, we conduct our political engagement alongside the established global rules.
## Consistency
Our public policy engagement is strictly aligned with our Business Conduct Guidelines and is centered around the long-term high-growth trends Decarbonization and Digitalization. All direct activities are reviewed and monitored to ensure a Paris-aligned lobbying approach. The principles of our direct lobbying activities apply in the same way to our engagement in trade associations. We have therefore implemented a management system that checks the consistency of the climate policy positions of our industry associations with our own positioning.

We regularly report on our memberships in trade associations. Here, we actively disclose the largest contributions.
## Trade associations
To achieve strategic objectives and unify the voice of the semiconductor industry, Infineon participates in various trade associations. We implemented a framework for addressing misalignments between climate change policy positions of trade associations and our own climate position. Statements and publications containing information on the following topics were analyzed to determine the climate policy position:
* Support for the Paris Agreement
* Advocacy of CO2 pricing
* Promotion of the expansion of renewable energies
The subject of the analysis are associations that actively formulate positions on energy and climate policy. Here, we distinguish between three forms of alignment in regards of climate change policy positions.
We are actively involved in associations to support, implement and publicly position the objectives of the Paris Climate Agreement. Following our initial analysis, we enter into dialog with associations whose climate policy positions do not match our own. In doing so, we aim to clarify our positions and explore the possibility of revising the association's positioning. If climate policy positions continue to contradict ours, we reserve the right to terminate membership of the respective association.
