GE HealthCare Technologies Inc
- Board oversight
- Direct lobbying governance
- Regular monitoring cycle
GE HealthCare discloses limited governance of its lobbying activities but does not make any reference to climate-specific alignment. The company indicates that "the GE Board's Governance & Public Affairs Committee, which is made up entirely of independent directors, oversees and reviews GE's political activity policies and practices, approves an annual political contributions budget and receives semi-annual reports on GE's political activity as part of its oversight responsibilities," and acknowledges that "some communications with government officials may be reportable as lobbying communications, and GE's U.S. lobbying expenses are included in Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA) reports." While this demonstrates board-level oversight of political engagement, we found no evidence of a policy or process to align direct or indirect lobbying with the company's climate or sustainability goals, nor any mechanisms to monitor or manage climate-related advocacy or trade-association positions in relation to environmental objectives.
This assessment is part of the Lobbying Governance Index, covering 8,500 companies scored on whether they have processes to oversee their climate lobbying. See all companies in North America or all companies in United States.
