JLL has established a defined governance process for its climate-related lobbying, with its "policy and related practices managed by the Global Sustainability team with oversight from the Global Sustainability Board." Stakeholder engagement, including "participation in industry-level working groups and organizations," is subject to a structured set of evaluation criteria - such as "risk mitigation," assessing whether it "is congruent with JLL-stated sustainability goals and positioning," and considering the "JLL relationship with advocacy organization" - and if an activity is "not considered in alignment," it is "escalated to the Board who will make the final decision on whether to move forward with the engagement activity." This process covers both direct policy engagement and indirect association-level involvement, supported by clear ownership and escalation protocols. We found no evidence of a publicly available audit or third-party review specifically evaluating climate lobbying alignment.
This assessment is part of the Lobbying Governance Index, covering 8,500 companies scored on whether they have processes to oversee their climate lobbying. See all companies in North America or all companies in United States.
