Lotte Chemical Corp has established a structured governance process for climate lobbying by entrusting the Environment Management Team - "directly under the CEO reporting line" - with leading both "direct and indirect policy engagement efforts are aimed at supporting the development of government greenhouse gas reduction methodologies and committing to active participation in the K-ETS." This assignment by the CEO ensures that policy engagement objectives "are in alignment with our overall climate change strategy as defined by the CEO, the Board, and the ESG Committee," and that "any and all engagement objectives are also designed with the entire company (including all business divisions) in mind," demonstrating oversight of direct lobbying with policymakers and alignment of indirect engagement. However, we found no evidence of a publicly available audit or third-party review assessing the alignment of its climate lobbying activities.
