StarHub has instituted a structured governance process for climate lobbying under the oversight of its Board and the Board Risk & Sustainability Committee (Board RSC), which "reviews sustainability and climate-related issues such as our decarbonisation roadmap, target setting and performance tracking, TCFD reporting and scenario analysis, ESG material topics, public policy engagement and external verification" as reported by its Management Risk Committee via "at least three scheduled RSC meetings yearly". In November 2022, it became "a signatory of the Corporate Knights Action Declaration on climate policy engagement", thereby committing to "support climate action aligned with the Paris Agreement when engaging with policymakers", to "work with our major industry/trade associations to advance alignment with the Paris Agreement" and to "monitor and disclose climate policy alignment for StarHub and our major industry/trade associations". This framework demonstrates active alignment of both its direct lobbying - through commitments when engaging policymakers - and its indirect lobbying via trade and industry associations, with clear oversight by the Board RSC and involvement of the Chief Corporate & Sustainability Officer. However, we found no evidence of a dedicated, publicly available climate-lobbying alignment report or of a defined procedure for addressing any misalignment in its association memberships.
