Swiss Life Holding AG

ISIN: US87089E1001 | United States | North America
Score 1 - Limited
Full assessment

Swiss Life discloses that its "Political Communication steering committee" "defines the strategic orientation of its political work", is composed of executives including the "Group CEO and Group CFO, the CEOs of the divisions headquartered in Switzerland, the General Counsel, the Chief Risk Officer, the Heads of Group Communications and Group Human Resources", and "meets four times a year" to "define the political priorities". It also states that its "Government Relations & Public Affairs team of the Swiss Life Group reports to the Chairman of the Board of Directors and bears process responsibility", and that "political advocacy work and communication are closely coordinated with umbrella and industry associations in all the divisions". While these disclosures indicate a formal body overseeing Swiss Life's lobbying activities, we found no evidence of any policy, process or review mechanism to align either its direct or indirect lobbying specifically with climate-related objectives, nor any climate-focused oversight, monitoring or alignment procedures.

This assessment is part of the Lobbying Governance Index, covering 8,500 companies scored on whether they have processes to oversee their climate lobbying. See all companies in North America or all companies in United States.
