Finning's Board of Directors oversees our sustainability policies and programs through the Safety, Environment and Social Responsibility Committee (SESR). The Finning Leadership Team (FLT) sets out senior management's expectations and guides our global sustainability strategy. The Global Sustainability Committee (GSC) coordinates and oversees the implementation of that strategy. [...] The Safety, Environment & Social Responsibility (SESR) Committee assists the board in its oversight of Finning's safety and health, environmental and social responsibility policies and programs and in monitoring the corporation's performance against those policies and programs, including climate-related matters. The SESR Committee also oversees the execution of Finning's approach to climate change, which includes the following elements: monitoring emissions; annual external reporting of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions data through the CDP (formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project) and the company's annual sustainability report; the identification of opportunities for emissions reductions; and the monitoring of progress against internal and external GHG targets. Further, the SESR committee is responsible for monitoring the resilience of Finning's strategy to the physical and transition risks of climate change.

Describe the process(es) your organization has in place to ensure that your engagement activities are consistent with your overall climate change strategy[…]Finning is actively involved in many industry and trade organizations, and some of these organizations are involved in advocacy and interact to influence climate change policy. For example, one of these organizations is the Alberta Chamber of Resources (ACR), of which Finning is a member. The ACR's committees are "inclusive places of discussion† and "outputs may include papers, educations or sounding boards to test new regulatory, policy or social ideas.† Finning has also been involved with industry and government working groups regarding engine emissions compliance standards (tier standards for diesel engines), regulations and power generation (electricity and combustion division of environment Canada). Finning has also been involved with government work groups regarding clean power generation (electricity and combustion division of environment Canada). Finning continues to engage with customers, academics, partners, suppliers and trade associations to exchange ideas and further develop the conversation around decarbonization.
